From John Hook, friend of the Odd Bods, from Neutral Bay, NSW, to secretary George Smith:
George,
Herewith photocopy of 42D Flight at 2 ITS Bradfield Park, July 1943. Tich is sitting in front row, third from left, and that's me fifth from left in back row. I have also enclosed a copy of the original photo signed by some of the chaps in the flight.
At the time, I made a note of the musterings handed down by the category selection board, with Tich then a WAG. You'll notice my note about Ray Seymour, an 18-year old Victorian who died suddenly with meningitis. I can recall the Flight attending his funeral at Rookwood War Cemetery.
If there's any problem with using the photocopy for reproduction in Odds 'n Ends, let me know and I'll organise a reprint. Canadian Air Force Magazine also enclosed.
Best wishes,
John Hook
